Candle Care

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended and keep lit candles out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Never burn your candle on or near anything flammable, or for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
  • Before first use trim the wick to approx. 1/4" and never move or relight until flame is out and wax is completely solid.  Be sure to not over-trim the wick.  You can cause problems with the burn of your candle if you trim the wick too short - you will get a small flame and the wick may eventually drown itself out.
  • Do not allow trimmed wicks, matches or other objects to remain in the candle.
  • When you first light your candle, allow the wax to pool all the way to the outer edges of the container. This is called a melt pool.  By allowing a full melt pool, it guarantees a longer lasting, even burn and maximum fragrance throw.
  • Always burn candles on a stable, protected, heat-resistant surface.
  • Soy candles are sensitive!  Keep your candles away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures - too cold and your candle will freeze, too hot and your candle will melt.
  • Leave at least 1 cm of wax in your jar - don't let it burn until there is no wax left as this may cause the glass to shatter.
  • When using your heart melts in an oil burner - do not add water or other additives, simply pop a melt in the top of your oil burner and light your tealight underneath.
